Two things amaze me about steel buildings. The first is how "immateral" they are, and the second is how fast the framing goes up. The tower element is in the foreground.

Standing on scaffolding, in a 20 km. wind, handling wet mortar in tempretures just above freezing is no picnic.

Newtonbrook Block color matched a competitor's product, and delivered product at a discount. I'll remember that name.

Accomodating the skewed geometry of a site the way this building does mean that eventually someone's going to have to do some tricky work with square materials.

I often have to explain to new clients what they get for "Full Service" versus the more limited work in a "Permit Set" (See #8 on my "FAQ page"), but a picture is worth, well, a lot of talking.
The pipe coming out of the ground in front of the planter wall is the gas service for the building. It was supposed to come up in the planter, instead of a sidewalk. In a "Full Service" job it would because I would make sure it did.
