Birth | Friday the 13th of February, 1959, in Toronto, Canada. |
| Education | Excluding summer school, night school, and correspondence courses, attended 12 schools in Ontario and Michigan before graduating OAC in Ontario in 1977. Pedagogies and experiences ranged from writing on the walls and calling your teacher 'Barry' at the School for Experiential Education, to the structure of boarding at St. Andrew's College. I attended the Faculty of Arts and Sciences at the University of Toronto, in 1981, before being accepted to the Faculty of Architecture and Landscape Architecture at the University of Toronto in 1982. I graduated from the Faculty in 1987. While at the Faculty, I was active in campus politics, sitting on the Faculty Coucil, the Student's Administrative Council, and on the Governing Council of the University. |
Professional Pedigree | I've worked in a variety of architectural and design firms in Toronto since 1988, focusing primarily on residential work, from speculative housing for developer clients, to government financed non-profit hi-rise housing, to highly detailed custom homes in the more exclusive neighborhoods. The longer stints were with Gabor + Popper Architects, Douglas B. Pollard, Architect, and William Mockler and Associates. Single family projects ranged in scope from small renovations to new homes with budgets over $2M CAN. I was licensed by the Ontario Association of Architects in 1999, and issued a Certificate of Practise by them in 2000, and have been in private practice ever since. |
Awards and Honors | I received the
W. Gerald Raymore Medal from the Ontario Association
of Architects in 1992, for receiving the highest grades in the Province of
Ontario's Admissions Examination (NCARB).
